Living with a spinal cord injury or disorder — or relying on a wheelchair for mobility — brings challenges that don’t simply disappear once rehab ends. The transition from hospital to home can feel overwhelming.
Have you ever struggled to adjust after rehab?
Do you feel isolated trying to manage at home or in your community?
Maybe you’re coping with trauma from gun violence and need a safe space to process what you’ve been through.
These challenges can quietly impact your confidence, independence, and sense of belonging. You may find yourself facing:
You deserve support beyond survival — support that empowers you to thrive, rebuild confidence, and reconnect with your purpose and community.
United Spinal Association of Georgia was founded to support individuals adjusting to life after a spinal cord injury or disorder (SCI/D). Recognizing the challenges that follow rehabilitation, we set out to bridge the gap between hospital care and independent living. Our organization builds on decades of national advocacy and local experience, creating a community where wheelchair users, their families, and caregivers can find resources, peer connections, and ongoing support as they navigate life beyond injury.
We offer friendly peer support, in-person and online meetups, mentoring after rehab, resources for families, advocacy, and special programs for those affected by gun violence. Our goal is to help wheelchair users and people with spinal cord injuries stay connected and thrive.

Connect with others who understand life with a spinal cord injury for real-world advice, encouragement, and support.
